an Atlanta architecture firm's own journey with LEED/sustainability
Follow us as we explore the process of LEED certification for our Atlanta office!
Richard Wittschiebe Hand (we) is a 20-person architecture firm located in downtown Atlanta.
We place sustainability high in our priorities when designing buildings. It is more than just a passing fad- it’s the right thing to do for the world we live in.
We have executed a number of LEED certified, gold, silver and platinum projects, but our philosophy is to use our sustainability knowledge and experience on every project we design and in every way we can.
Buildings are the largest consumer of energy and resources. We believe that we have a responsibility to design buildings that are sustainable. Thoughtful, sustainable design benefits the environment, the economy and the people that occupy the building. We believe that sustainable design adds value to every project. Through integrated sustainable design, we can maximize the quality of the building and the environment it creates, while minimizing the impact to the natural environment.
Currently, there is significant public interest in sustainable design. We do not believe that it is a passing fad, nor is it new to us. We have been guiding clients toward incorporating the most sustainable building materials and practices well before the LEED process was initiated.
This blog chronicles our journey of pursuing LEED-EB certification our own building.
